For the first time in 30 years, Windsor celebrated Halloween with a virtual parade. The costumes were fabulous and it was great to see so much enthusiasm among our students and staff.

Week of Respect
Windsor joined schools across the nation during the Week of Respect to take a stand against bullying. We emphasized the importance of celebrating our differences and accepting everyone for who they are. It was great to see so many people “teaming up” for this special cause.
Time to Move!
It feels good to exercise and gym class is the perfect place to do that. We are back in the swing of things here at Windsor and everyone is happy to get up and go whenever possible.
Celebrating a Pioneer Artist
Our students are learning about the techniques of Alma Thomas, an expressionist painter, a devoted art educator, and the first African American woman to have a solo exhibit at the Whitney Museum of American Art. Thomas, who started painting seriously at age 69, was known for her powerful color choices.
Pennants of Positivity
We asked students and staff to decorate a pennant to highlight something that makes them happy. Their creative contributions were very colorful and will certainly brighten the hallways at Windsor Learning Center!
Beauty and the Beast Jr. at Windsor!
Our students brought this magical tale to life. The colorful cast of characters took us on a wonderful journey filled with delightful songs and laughter. We are so proud of everyone who made this such a memorable performance! Click below to see the highlights!
Lending a Hand to Some Furry Friends
We had a wonderful experience volunteering at the Alan Purcell Wayne Animal Shelter. After the staff showed us what needed to be done, we split up into teams to wash dishes, wipe counters, fold laundry and clean crates. The cats watched curiously as we swept and mopped the floors. While we were there, other volunteers fed the animals and cleaned their litter boxes. It was very exciting to meet a few of the dogs and take them on a long walk. They were very energetic and eager to get some fresh air and exercise. Everyone on the trip agreed that it felt great to help animals who were waiting to find their forever homes. Thank you so much to the directors of the PAWS program for making this experience possible for us. We hope to go back again soon!
Cookie Basics
Whether you are making them from scratch or using ready-made dough, cookies are fun to bake. Unless the goal is to make one big cookie, you need to how far apart to space them and how many can fit in a row on the cookie sheet. The importance of using gloves, setting the correct oven temperature, wearing oven mitts, and allowing the cookies time to cool are just some of the lessons to be learned in the kitchen. The smell of freshly baked cookies will surely attract many people, so make sure that you have enough to share!
It’s Good to Have Goals
Interested students had the chance to play soccer at a local facility this week. It took some hard work for them to earn this special opportunity, but in the end it was worth it. They enjoyed playing together and practicing their skills.
