Inspired by Music Technology

Using a digital sampling keyboard workstation,  a blend of high energy music, audience participation, and humor, Brent Daniels presented us with an exciting and informative assembly. An award-winning composer, producer, sound designer, and recording artist, Mr. Daniels uses the latest in music technology to sculpt sound and create music. Many people left the assembly feeling inspired to try something new and use their imagination.

A Summer Filled with Learning and Fun

We are having an awesome summer here at Windsor! The Brain Challenge assembly was fantastic and we loved learning how to create music using sound design technology. Our stomp rockets and pine derby cars are turning out great and we are looking forward to using them both at field day. Learning to cook nutritious meals, and enjoying time together at local restaurants has been wonderful. It’s going by so fast and we are trying to make the most of every day!

Adventure in the Wetlands

Students had the chance to learn about the salt marshes and act as field biologists during the first week of our extended school year program. Armed with long nets, they eagerly searched for the wide variety of creatures that inhabit the Meadowlands.  Many were happy to report that they were successful in collecting specimens.

Using Your Noodle

Have you ever tried using pasta to create words? It’s not easy! We asked groups of students to form words with different types of pasta. It was a fun team building activity that required patience and thought. They enjoyed figuring out which noodles worked best for each letter.

Memories and Milestones

Congratulations to our 8th-grade graduates as they move on to high school!  While at Windsor, they had many opportunities to learn, form friendships, make lasting memories, and grow, both emotionally and socially.  We hope that these experiences will inspire the class of 2019 to follow their dreams and make a positive difference in the world.

A Group Effort for a Good Cause

This spring, Windsor Schools teamed up with Pompton Lakes High School and Rotary Club to help CUMAC, a food bank located in Paterson, NJ whose mission is to feed people and change lives. As a group, we donated 313 pounds of food with recipes and all of the ingredients needed to cook specific meals, $500 in checks, and $200 in ShopRite gift cards. It was an amazing experience that allowed our students to see how much can be accomplished when people work together.

A Trip Back in Time

One of our classes visited Medieval Times this month and journeyed back to the Middle Ages. The 11th-century style castle was the perfect place to enjoy a hearty lunch and see an exciting live show with competing knights and beautiful horses. Everyone returned from the adventure with smiles on their faces and a new understanding of what it was like at that time in history.

Dedicated Teachers, Happy Students & Proud Parents

We recently honored many students at our third awards assembly of the school year. Individuals were recognized for good character, kindness, academic accomplishments, personal achievements and more on this special occasion. It’s been an incredible year filled with many opportunities for our students to find success. Congratulations to everyone on a job well done!

Spring Fling Fun

Our 7th and 8th graders enjoyed an afternoon filled with opportunities to socialize. They danced, played games, ate tasty food, and won prizes at this special annual event. It was great to see students requesting songs from the DJ and enjoying each other’s company.

1st Annual Educational Fair at Windsor

This year, we hosted an Educational Fair which encompassed all areas of the school curriculum. Staff and students from Windsor Learning Center and Windsor School worked collaboratively to produce interesting exhibits for this special event. Our hallways and gymnasium were adorned with beautiful displays that represented a wide array of topics. The interactive nature of each area provided visitors with many hands-on experiences as they toured the Windsor Museum. We were very excited to see so many parents and their feedback was incredible.
