Shrek Arrives at Windsor!

After many weeks of rehearsals, Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, and their friends brought Shrek the Musical, Jr. to life. The colorful cast of characters brought us on a wonderful journey through the swamp that filled the theater with laughter and applause. We are so proud of everyone who contributed to making this such a memorable performance.

A Celebration of Seuss at Windsor

Today, we joined in the excitement of Read Across America, a nationwide celebration that honors Dr. Seuss’s birthday.  Younger and older classes were paired together to participate in a wide array of fun activities.  Among other things, they enjoyed reading to one another and playing Seuss bingo.

A Winter Warm-Up

Gray skies, cold temperatures, and falling snow can sometimes make us feel lonely and bored. Playing games, sharing stories, and making crafts together with friends is always a great way to beat the winter blues. We have been visiting this local senior day center for several years now and it’s a place where we feel safe, welcome, and happy to be there.

Exercising for a Cause

We jumped, danced, skipped, and swiveled to help raise money for the American Heart Association. Students enjoyed eating healthy snacks and had the opportunity to make Valentines for someone special.  This was our third year participating in Jump Rope for Heart and we were excited to see so many people join together for this worthy cause.

Windsor’s Got Talent!

The abilities displayed by students and staff at our annual talent show were incredible!  Musicians, comedians, singers, dancers, and athletes entertained people of all ages. It was a wonderful event and we were proud to see so many people overcome their fears in order to share their talents with us. Congratulations to everyone who participated!

Karate Offers Valuable Life Lessons

Besides building strength, karate can help to increase confidence and self-esteem. A dedicated karate instructor teaches us the importance of staying focused, respecting others, and improving our overall well-being.  Our students enjoy participating in this special activity a few times throughout the school year.

Pups Warm our Hearts

Just like people, some dogs are more fortunate than others. Although we often have no idea what a dog has been through in its life, we do know that it needs love and encouragement.  Our students are always more than happy to provide that. Although it takes longer for some pups to warm up than others, they usually come around and accept what we have to offer. This is so important because it makes them more adoptable.

Pep Rally Stirs Enthusiasm

We held a pep rally to show support for our basketball team this week.  It was exciting to hear the names of players announced as they ran under the bridge provided by our cheerleaders. For many of our students, it was a new experience and it certainly generated a lot of excitement about the upcoming games.

Extreme Energy!

The science of thermal energy was brought to life at Windsor by a company called Wondergy. Two scientists demonstrated different ways that energy is used and explained how and why it all works. We were on the edge of our seats during the whole colorful and exciting assembly.

Student Council Serves Up Pancakes

Our student council worked together to make everything run smoothly at our annual pancake breakfast.  They set the tables, served warm pancakes, and made everyone feel welcome. No task was too difficult for our eager crew as they worked in shifts to provide our hungry guests with a great experience.
