A Special Message from PAWS

We heard from a very special group of friends today! PAWS in Hand sent us their warm wishes in a beautiful holiday card. They miss coming to Windsor and can’t wait to come back. We miss them too and hope that everyone, including our four-legged friends, is staying safe and healthy so they can visit us again soon!

Show Your Spirit!

We asked everyone to show us their school spirit this past week. It was a winter wonderland out there and we enjoyed it! Pups wore their bows and people put on their ugly sweaters. We wish everyone a happy and healthy break with their families. See you in 2021!

Cases for Smiles

Ms. Murphy recently found a wonderful way for our students to help other children! They made colorful pillowcases for kids undergoing treatment in the hospital. Their beautiful creations will be sent to an organization dedicated to helping kids feel better to heal better. Volunteers deliver more than 200,000 bright, cheerful pillowcases each year to children and their families in over 330 hospitals. Visit Ryan’s Case for Smiles to learn more about their mission and how you can help!

A Season of Giving

This winter, we partnered with the Pompton Lakes Rotary Club to help those in need of food, clothing, and toys. We were grateful for the opportunity to help brighten the season for as many families as possible.

Fall Fest at Windsor School

The rain didn’t keep us from having a great day! We painted pumpkins, dyed t-shirts, made slime, challenged ourselves in an escape room, and tried some Minute to Win It games. It was nice way to celebrate the season together.

Door Decorating Fun

We invited our homerooms to decorate their rooms for Halloween. Each group used a different approach and the results were awesome. Awards were presented for the most creative, funniest, creepiest, and best overall designs.

Pink for a Purpose

Windsor held a Breast Cancer Awareness campaign to honor everyone who has been impacted by this disease. We proudly wore pink and sold ribbons in support of The Collins Pavilion, located in Pompton Plains, New Jersey.  This facility is home to outpatient breast health, cancer care, and pediatric services.  Thanks to everyone for your support!

Week of Respect

Windsor joined schools across the nation during the Week of Respect to take a stand against bullying. We emphasized the importance of celebrating our differences and accepting everyone for who they are.  It was great to see so many people “teaming up” for this special cause.

A Splash of Color

We welcomed autumn with a flower sale this year. Students decorated simple flower pots with colorful fabric and tied them up with pretty ribbon. These beautiful mums will help to brighten many doorsteps, windowsills, and tables.

Celebrating a Pioneer Artist

Our students are learning about the techniques of Alma Thomas, an expressionist painter, a devoted art educator, and the first African American woman to have a solo exhibit at the Whitney Museum of American Art. Thomas, who started painting seriously at age 69, was known for her powerful color choices.
