Using Your Noodle

Have you ever tried using pasta to create words? It’s not easy! We asked groups of students to form words with different types of pasta. It was a fun team building activity that required patience and thought. They enjoyed figuring out which noodles worked best for each letter.

Congratulations, Windsor Graduates!

We are so proud of the Class of 2019! While many of them have been part of the Windsor family since kindergarten, others joined us for the first time, this year.  This group of young adults has such a wide variety of interests, talents, and dreams. We have high hopes for what they are going to accomplish and wish them success and happiness as they begin this new chapter of their lives.

Memories and Milestones

Congratulations to our 8th-grade graduates as they move on to high school!  While at Windsor, they had many opportunities to learn, form friendships, make lasting memories, and grow, both emotionally and socially.  We hope that these experiences will inspire the class of 2019 to follow their dreams and make a positive difference in the world.

Food, Friends, & Fun

We celebrated the end of the school year with a barbeque. Delicious food, music provided by our own DJ, and breezy weather all added up to a perfect gathering. It was a nice way to relax and reflect upon a wonderful year together.

A Group Effort for a Good Cause

This spring, Windsor Schools teamed up with Pompton Lakes High School and Rotary Club to help CUMAC, a food bank located in Paterson, NJ whose mission is to feed people and change lives. As a group, we donated 313 pounds of food with recipes and all of the ingredients needed to cook specific meals, $500 in checks, and $200 in ShopRite gift cards. It was an amazing experience that allowed our students to see how much can be accomplished when people work together.

A Trip Back in Time

One of our classes visited Medieval Times this month and journeyed back to the Middle Ages. The 11th-century style castle was the perfect place to enjoy a hearty lunch and see an exciting live show with competing knights and beautiful horses. Everyone returned from the adventure with smiles on their faces and a new understanding of what it was like at that time in history.

Dedicated Teachers, Happy Students & Proud Parents

We recently honored many students at our third awards assembly of the school year. Individuals were recognized for good character, kindness, academic accomplishments, personal achievements and more on this special occasion. It’s been an incredible year filled with many opportunities for our students to find success. Congratulations to everyone on a job well done!

Spreading Kindness

Some of our students recently helped to weed gardens and plant seeds for new flowers at Shepherd’s Haven, a local adult day center. This group was not afraid to get their hands dirty and work hard to help brighten the days of the senior citizens who go there on a regular basis. It was a wonderful way to help our friends and enjoy the sunshine.

A NYC Themed Spring Celebration

When asked to vote for a theme for the Spring Bash this year, our students chose New York City.  What a great choice!  We dined on steaming hotdogs, pizza, and Italian ices and danced under the city lights. Some enjoyed karaoke while others played basketball or tried on some funky clothes in the photo booth. It was a great party that provided everyone with a chance to socialize.

Serving Others Feels Good

We brought a group of hard-working students and staff to Eva’s Kitchen this month.  Our team was responsible for setting tables, serving lunch, and cleaning up. Once the guests were finished eating, we started to get ready for the next group of hungry people. It was very important for us to follow directions and pay attention to the details. This was a great learning experience for everyone involved and we are looking forward to our next community service trip.
